New construction guide
Should you use a REALTOR® when buying new construction in the Triad?
A builder’s representative works for the builder. Buyers can have their own real-estate representation to help evaluate the community, contract, selections, timing and inspection opportunities.
When should a buyer involve Alex?
Before the first model-home visit or registration whenever possible. Builder policies vary, and representation may need to be documented at the buyer’s initial contact.
What should buyers compare beyond the base price?
Consider lot premiums, structural and design upgrades, incentives, financing terms, homeowners-association obligations, estimated taxes, completion timing and what is included in the finished home.
Are inspections still useful?
Many buyers choose independent inspections at permitted stages and near completion. The appropriate plan depends on the contract, construction schedule and advice of qualified inspectors and other professionals.
